- AAGH! Well, I was just using my A2500 when I decided to turn the power off
- (of course waiting for everything to stop spinning), and then turn it back on.
- The power supply made an awful belching/eletro-death sound, and I unplugged it
- immediately. I guess I just killed my power supply.
-
- Ok, so here's my question. I now have in my A2500 an A2286 w/5.25", A2630
- w/4MB (naturally), A2091 with a Quantum 105LPS and 1080 fireball, DF0 880k, and
- an external 1011 that wasn't connected at the time. I always heard that the
- stock C= power supply wasn't very strong, but I figured the new fireball drive
- wouldn't have been that much on the thing.
-
- So, should all of this hardware be that much of a strain on the PS? I guess
- I'm going to get a 300W supply for a replacement, but I was just surprised by
- the way it died; I've had an SVGA card and all 3 drives (5.25 & both df0/df2)
- operating beforre, and I would figure that is more draw than the new hard drive
- would have caused..
-
- never blew a power supply before.. scared the hell outta me :)
